No doubt Late UmeshChandra,I.P.S was a honest man. Now a days no
I.P.S Officers are honest like Umesh. India had lost a sincere
I.P.S officer.
Bhanu Prasad Paruchuri writes:
I like people who sincerely do their duties. In India it is
difficult to do the same (most of the times) due to lot of external
pressures/forces. One can imagine the complexity if the job is in
police department. Frankly speaking there are very few people who
honestly do their duties in this department, without caring the
consequences. Mr. Umesh Chandra IPS, is one among them. He was
incomparable: both the ordinary people (public) and other officers
appreciated him a LOT for his honest services and devotion. He has
done the ultimate sacrifice! His assassination is a great loss not
only to his family members but also to all others. The only people
who are happy with his death are those who don't have any belief in
the constitution. Hope his episode inspires a lot of young people.

I just wanted to say..Umesh sir was so young..he did not
deserve to die..being a police officer's child I know
what bureacracy can do..it is such a nasty thing..and all
we can do is nothing and thats the saddest part of all..
To all those people who were taken away from their families
in the name of duty..a tear..and a heavy heart prays God bless
their souls.

I am one of his admirers all time writing from Rochester,
Minnesota, USA, basically from Pulivendla, Cuddapah (Dist). I was
there when Umesh Chandra came as an ASP to Pulivendla. I heard
about him a lot, so one day I thought of meeting him. I was very
much excited the day I met him and was amazed after meeting
Umesh Chandra because he is a different person. I did not feel
that I was talking to 'THE GREAT UMESH CHANDRA IPS' (who
made a lot of bad people so scared that they could not enjoy a moments
peace) because he was very simple, sharp, friendly and always
with a nice smile on his face.
I started asking him questions like how he liked the
job? Why he did what he did in Rayachoti? How he felt
about loosing his privacy because of the security? He
laughed at me and asked me if I was a journalist? I said
no. I still remember the answer today, he said: "you have to
loose something in your life to achieve something". That made me
to think differently about life. He was a great person,
that's how I started my friendship with Umesh Chandra.
There is another incident I feel great about Mr. Umesh
Chandra. I heard that from lot of people that he does
not attend lot of functions because does not want to feel
obligated. People start asking you to do favours
with the interaction that they had with this function. I
was running a computer institute at Pulivendla and I want
to invite Mr. Umesh Chandra on August 15th to honor him
since he was (is) a great police officer but lot of people
discouraged me that he does not come. When I went and
invited him, he said that he will try. I wasn't
sure if he would come. On August 15, we were
all gathered but at sharp 9 AM the police jeep
stopped and there he was "The Great Umesh Chandra IPS",
my hero. I was overwhelmed and said it was great honor sir,
he just laughed. When I asked him if I could be photographed
with him, he said okay. I still have that photograph with me
in my album safely. As a matter of fact you can read my letter signed as Sankar B Reddy.
I wrote this letter when he came as SP to Cuddapah District.
It's a great loss for the country that such a great
officer was assassinated. It is an honour to pen some
words about the brave young dynamic officer
"UMESH CHANDRA IPS THE GREAT". My prayers are
always with his family and I will be glad to be
of any help to his trust.
