Umeshchandra is felicitated by the artists of Cuddapah in Proddutur. He is seen as a God who came to Cuddapah to rid this violence-prone district of trouble makers and corrupt officials.

Umeshchandra takes the first step towards elimination of corruption among the police. On this day, the entire Cuddapah police takes a voluntary oath to not accept even a single Rupee for work done. This unprecedented event was brought about by Umeshchandra by building a consensus among the Police. His devotion to the welfare of the police was an important factor in the decision taken by all of Cuddapah Police.
